Service Outages
A service outage comes in different forms and can diminish our enjoyment and use of the network-based services we maintain.
2005
June
20th
- An extended electric power outage or series of outages affected parts of Ames, including:
- Ward 4, Precinct 3, Monday evening, June 20, 2005, sometime after 19:50:01.
27th
- What may have been a Freese-Notis service outage affected Ward 4, Precinct 3 during the afternoon of Monday, June 27, 2005.
2006
January
4th
- JoeAnderson had an outage overnight Jan 4, 2006, probably at around 11:35pm. Took out the digital alarm clock settings and the stove clock, but not the microwave clock or the coffee pot clock.
- JonathanKollasch experienced the same ~2-5 second outage at about 23:24. Only non-UPSed devices, including the NodeOakland28 WireLess router were affected.
July
8th
- failure to resolve irc.amescommunity.net, resulting in #acn being unavailable. May have started on the 7th.
