A service set identifier, commonly abbreviated as SSID, is the name given to an 802.11b/g network and is used for hosts and access points on the network to associate themselves with one another.
The name can be anywhere from 1 to 32 characters in length.
The
ACN convention for creating an SSID for a given node is discussed on our WireLess page.
